Position Overview:
The Supervisor Accountant of Outsourced Accounting Services is responsible for leading accounting services engagements for small to medium sized businesses, as well as leading advisory teams in support of client outsourcing initiatives. Additionally, the Supervisor Accountant is responsible for assisting in the development of initial assessments, project plans, vendor selections, financial modeling, RFP creation, contract negotiations and post selection administrative actions. Performance is evaluated based on quality and accuracy of work, application of accounting and auditing knowledge, supervision of Staff, In-Charge, and Senior personnel as assigned, and the ability to meet time and budget constraints, as well as client deadlines. 

Essential Functions:
  • Supports Manager in the planning and development of project deliverables, and assumes responsibility for budget, work plans, timeline, and me.
  • Demonstrates competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and Firm standards. 
  • Coordinates and oversees various phases of engagement, plans engagement, budgets time and expenses, monitors actual performance against budget and reviews working papers for accuracy and completeness (both for self and other staff). 
  • Completing detail review of work papers and client deliverable prior to manager review. 
  • Meets time and budget constraints, as well as client and internal deadlines.  
  • Interacts directly with senior client and service provider executives. 
  • Communicates engagement's progress, problems, resolutions, financial information, and other business concerns to the client, Manager, team members, and other business units.  
  • Participates in client meetings, as required. 
  • Maintains contact with clients throughout the year; has thorough knowledge of the client and all facets of the client’s business or personal needs. 
  • Studies and evaluates clients' internal controls, as applicable. 
  • Prepares engagement letters for approval by Manager. 
  • Aids in preparing proposals. Develops the financial, statement of work, service level and contract terms portions of the RFP. 
  • Accumulates knowledge of general economic, political trends or other legislation that could affect the business climate.  
  • Resolves accounting problems as they arise and informs Manager. 
  • Provides supervision and on-the-job training to staff assigned to engagement. 
  • Displays proficiency in the following software: 
    • QuickBooks Online 
    • Bill.com 
    • Sage Intacct 
    • Martus Tools 
    • FloQast 
    • Other 3rd party applications that work with QBO and Intacct 
Other Functions:
  • Develops an understanding of and adheres to Firm policies and procedures including (as appropriate) Firm’s Quality Control document. 
  • Pursues continuing professional education and upgrading of accounting skills, including attending CPE, reading national, professional, and local business journals and publications, staying familiar with pronouncements from the IRS, Congress, the AICPA, etc. Maintains knowledge of the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct (as appropriate for position).  
  • Participates in local civic, charitable, business, and other organizations. 
  • Achieves at least minimum annual productivity budget for chargeable hours, chargeable percent, and realization. 
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to secure new business for the firm. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Proficiency with various accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing. 
  • Demonstrates sound critical thinking, professional judgment, and decision-making skills. 
  • Current knowledge of accounting principles. 
  • Displays the self-motivation to ask for and successfully complete the types of assignments and special projects that will further increase technical skills, especially if required for a specific area of expertise. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • Conducts themself with integrity in a responsible, professional manner and appearance. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
Required Education: Bachelor’s in accounting or related field

Required Experience: 5 years progressive experience in public accounting

License/Certification: CPA preferred

Working Requirements:

  • Frequent same day travel for work at client's offices, meetings and seminars using a personal vehicle.
  • Occasional overtime is expected throughout the year and will vary based on individual client needs.

Flexible work from home options available.

Compensation: $80,000.00 - $102,000.00 per year
